Description
High-Toughness 7018-1 Basic Electrode for Structural Applications
Basic heavy-coated electrode, specifically developed for infrastructure and shipbuilding applications, ensures crack-free, high-toughness welds on C-Mn microalloyed and low-alloy structural steels. It produces extremely smooth and finely rippled weld beads, with an exceptionally low diffusible hydrogen content (< 4.0 ml/100g), minimizing the risk of hydrogen-induced cracking. The weld metal provides top-tier impact toughness, with proven performance down to -50°C. Ideal for critical structural applications, including steels with carbon content up to 0.40%.Classified in the 7018-1 group, it offers excellent mechanical properties, stable arc characteristics, and good weldability in all positions, making it suitable for both shop and field use. Also recommended for buffer layers.
