GENERAL FEATURES
Thermal (or flame) spraying is a thermal coating process. The powdered filler material is partially melted with a gas flame and at the same time accelerated by the combustion gases towards the surface to be treated. The partially fused powder particles on impact with the component surface tend to deform and create a coating characterized by a lamellar structure. The plasma PTA (plasma transferred arc) coating differs from spraying processes as it is a real welding process that gives rise to a metallurgical bond between the base material and the filler powders. DAIKO has formulated powders for the main fields of application of thermal coatings and in particular consumables that guarantee excellent anti-corrosion and anti-wear protection. All powders can be supplied in various grain sizes, depending on the application process.
