Solid wire for matching HP10Cb alloys
These consumables are designed for joinings and building up on identical and similar high heat resistant CrNi cast steel and centrifugal and mould cast parts. The weld metal overmatches 800 type alloys and is suitable for low sulphur, carbon enriching atmosphere up to 1150° C, such as reformer ovens in petrochemical installations. It has excellent resistance to thermal shock and fatigue. Clean welding area carefully. No preheating or post weld heat treatment. Keep heat input as low as possible and interpass temperature at max. 150° C.

Description

Application

These consumables are designed for depositing weld metal that precisely matches the composition of similar castings. Derived from 800-type alloys, this alloy features increased chromium and nickel contents, resulting in enhanced resistance to carburization and oxidation. Operating effectively at temperatures up to 1100°C, it also exhibits remarkable resistance to thermal shock and fatigue. The consumables are particularly suitable for welding applications involving centrifugally cast pyrolysis coils, reformer tubes, return bends, and tees in the petrochemical industry. Typically, there is no need for preheating or post-weld heat treatment (PWHT), and it is advisable to maintain interpass temperatures below 150°C.

Alloy Type

0.1%C-25%Cr-35%Ni-0.6%Nb (HP10Cb) austenitic cast alloy for heat resisting service.

Microstructure

In the as-welded condition the weld metal microstructure consists of austenite with some grain boundary carbides.
