G-TECH 9CrMoWV
SMAW
- CREEP RESISTING STEELS
9CrMoV
Description
Basic-coated electrode for creep-resistant 9Cr–0.5Mo–1.8W steels
This electrode is designed for welding P92-grade and equivalent steels modified with Nb, W, V and N additions to improve high-temperature creep resistance.
Typical applications include high-temperature steam piping, turbine casings in power generation plants, components for oil refineries, and coal liquefaction and gasification plants.
The martensite finish temperature (Mf) is relatively low. Therefore, after welding and before post-weld heat treatment (PWHT), it is recommended to allow the welded joint to cool to a temperature not exceeding 90 °C to promote complete martensitic transformation.
