Solid wire for high temperature applications, dissimilar joints and for overlaying
High 0.04%-0.08% carbon version of 309 stainless steel consumables for high-grade applications service temperature for analogous, heat resisting rolled, forged and cast steels as well as for heat resisting, ferritic CrSiAl steels. Mainly used in annealing shops, hardening shops, steam boiler construction, the crude oil industry and the ceramics industry. Austenitic deposite with a ferrite content of approx. 8 %. Preferably used for applications involving the attack of oxidizing gases. Scaling resistance up to +1000 °C.

Description

Application

Consumables designed for welding heat-resistant steels, including wrought, forged, and cast grades. Also suitable for ferritic Cr–Si–Al steels with high-temperature resistance. Typical applications include annealing and heat treatment plants, steam boiler construction, and the petrochemical and ceramic industries. The product is particularly suitable for use in oxidizing atmospheres, thanks to its high oxidation resistance up to approximately 1000 °C. Designed for high-temperature service, it is also suitable for welding dissimilar joints and for cladding/overlay applications. For ferritic steels, preheating and interpass temperature control within the range of 200–300 °C are recommended to reduce the risk of cracking and to ensure adequate weld joint properties.
