CrMoV
Application
The CrMoV base materials offer excellent creep rupture properties up to about 580°C, also ensuring a good level of corrosion resistance in environments with superheated steam. These materials find ideal application in cast components such as
valve and steam turbine casings, boilers, pressure vessels, as well as in the power generation and petrochemical industries. The addition of vanadium improves the tempering stability of the hardened steels, producing a secondary hardening effect. Additionally, it refines the grain, thus increasing strength, yield strength, and toughness at low temperatures after normalizing, and improves performance in welding conventional low-alloy steels. It is crucial to adhere to the specifications regarding the preheating and post-weld heat treatment of the base materials.
