Description

Electrode for welding forged and cast aluminum-magnesium alloys and aluminum-manganese alloys
Electrode developed for welding forged and cast aluminum-magnesium alloys and aluminum-manganese alloys. When welding, hold the electrode at a right angle to the workpiece, with a short arc. Wall thicknesses greater than 10 mm and larger workpieces will require preheating from 150°C to 250 °C. Since slag residues are corrosive, they must be completely removed from the weld bead. It displays good weldability and no porosity.

Description

Application

Specifically designed for joining aluminum alloys, the AlMn material is ideal for repairing broken parts and other castings. It is particularly effective for plating and rebuilding components. Its characteristics make it excellent for welding different grades of aluminum. Typical applications include storage tanks, truck and trailer components, chemical tanks, and equipment for the food industry. Thanks to the addition of manganese (Mn), it offers greater strength and excellent ductility, along with extraordinary corrosion resistance. This product ensures excellent weldability with good penetration and a porosity-free deposit. It features a unique self-lifting slag and an advanced coating that prevents moisture absorption.

Alloy Type

Aluminum alloyed with Manganese, copper, silicon, and magnesium.

Microstructure

Face-centered cubic lattice.

Materials

Seawater resistant Aluminum, AlMn, AlMg alloys with max. 3% magnesium. Also for welding forged and cast aluminum-magnesium alloys and aluminum-manganese alloys.
