Description

Basic coated electrode
This basic coated high recovery electrode deposits a weld metal with a fully austenitic structure with carbide precipitations and scaling resistant up to 1000°C. Product for welding and cladding of heat resistant fully austenitic steels and similar alloyed steel casts for high temperature applications. Its basic coating ensures excellent positional welding characteristics with good gap bridging ability. Ease of slag removal reduces post-welding cleaning operations to a minimum.

Description

Application

The product is specifically formulated for welding and cladding of fully austenitic and heat-resistant steels, as well as castings in alloyed steels with similar characteristics. The weld deposit offers oxidation resistance up to 1000 °C and possesses exceptional resistance to thermal shock and fatigue. This alloy, derived from the type 800, features an increased chromium and nickel content, providing superior resistance to carburization and oxidation. Main applications include welding of centrifugally cast pyrolysis coils, reformer tubes, return bends, and T-fittings, particularly relevant in the petrochemical industry.

Alloy Type

25% Cr – 24% Ni – austenitic alloy.

Microstructure

Fully austenitic structure with carbide precipitations.

Materials

Joining and cladding of fully austenitic heat resistant CrNi-steels of the same kind and similar Cast steels.
